John is the Managing Attorney at the Law Offices of John C. Carlson. He focuses his practice representing clients in personal injury, criminal, and traffic matters, and has several years of experience in each of these areas.

He graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 2000, graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2004, and graduated from the University of San Diego Law School in 2014.

Before going to law school, John was employed as a business consultant for a large aerospace company and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, as well as studied and worked abroad in Strasbourg and Paris, France. After passing the Bar exam, he worked as an attorney in Sacramento for the federal government, and subsequently as a traffic and criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Luis Obispo. He most recently worked for a personal injury law firm for several years before starting his own practice.

He is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), the American Association of Justice (AAJ), the American Bar Association, the San Luis Obispo Bar Association, the Santa Barbara Bar Association, and the Santa Barbara Rotary Club.

In his personal time, John enjoys playing tennis, gardening, traveling, speaking French, volunteering, and spending time with his wife Justine, newborn daughter Bridget and dog Oso.
